Flipnote Friends

Make meeting up with friends that little bit more exciting; sharing a Flipnote with someone will add them to your friend list and makes finding each other on Sudomemo easier than ever!

⚠️ Flipnote Friends should be people that you already know in real life. Never give your info to people you meet on the Internet, or arrange to meet with them.

How do I add a friend?

You can add someone as a friend by sending them a Flipnote – just follow these simple steps:

  1. Meet up in person with a friend; make sure to bring each other’s console!
  2. Open Flipnote Studio on both consoles and tell your friend to wait at the title screen.
  3. On your console, tap on the button labelled “View Flipnote” and find the Flipnote that you want to send.
  4. Tap on that Flipnote and then tap on “Details”, “Send” and then “Agree”.
  5. Choose “Lock” if you don’t want your friend to edit your Flipnote, otherwise choose “Don’t Lock”.
  6. Tap on “Find Recipient” and a message should popup on your friend’s console starting with “Incoming Flipnote from”. They should tap on this message.
  7. Finally, tap “Yes” on your console to send the Flipnote. You are now Flipnote Friends!

🏆 If your friend is also on or joins Sudomemo, you will both unlock a new trophy for your Creator’s Room!

How do I see my friends? Can anyone else see them?

Only you will be able to see your friends list, and you can do so by following the instructions below:

Flipnote Studio

  1. Open Flipnote Studio if you haven’t already, and tap on the wrench icon in the top-right corner of the title screen.
  2. Tap on the right arrow 3 times to go to page 4.
  3. Tap on “Flipnote Friends”

💡 You can also remove a friend by tapping on their name here!

Sudomemo (console)

  1. Open Flipnote Studio and connect to Sudomemo if you haven’t already.
  2. Go to your Creator’s Room and look for “Flipnote Friends” (it should have a lock icon next to it). You may have to scroll down to find it.
  3. Once you’ve found it, tap on the underlined text to the right of it to view a list of your friends!
